I am a mother of 4 beautiful children, I have just given birth to my 4th baby 0n 23rd  August 2009. I have had 4 very different but beautiful pregnancies and births.  I have endured the highs and very lows many people experience in their pregnancies every day.  I also had 5 years of unexplained infertility between my second and third child.  During this time I was desperate looking into many different fertility options.

In Feb 2004 I decided to undertake my studies into Reflexology as my 2 oldest children were at school and I needed to do something.  It was during my studies and training I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child. Amazing since it had been 5 years and lots of tests, then out of the blue!!!

I continued practising Reflexology and found it quite interesting that quite a few people I had worked on were either having hormonal problems or were trying to conceive much wanted babies.  I decided in  August 2007 to undertake my own studies as the results were getting too good to ignore.  I asked 10 women to participate in my trial,  these women had to have been trying for over 12 months or consulting with a fertility specialist.

Within the first 4 weeks of weekly treatments I was phoned with the good news that a pregnancy was achieved, then in the following 6 weeks I had another 5 women all confirming they were indeed pregnant.... WOW I was utterly gob-smacked there really was a correlation between boosting fertility and Reflexology.within 15 weeks of my trial starting I helped 9 women boost their fertility and conceive very much wanted babies.  I have now gone on using my Reflexology techniques to successfully help 15 couples.  This for me was very humbling.  I had actually helped change peoples lives for the better.

I was then asked to attend births of these clients as we had formed a great bond, and I used Reflexology, acupressure and massage techniques to help the women in labour.  I know I helped but I just wanted to offer a whole lot more.  This was when I looked into becoming a doula.  I found Gabrielle Targett's website and was intrigued.  Gabrielle is the author of the book "A Labour of Love" I read the book and knew I was headed in the right direction.  During the course Gaby shared her knowledge, and answered questions we had.  She explained why a doula(or support person other than the partner) is so important in helping the couple to make informed choices on how they want their birth experience to unfold.

From this I was even more determined to help couples achieve the birth experiences they wanted. Regardless of the choices I aim to help the couple prepare in a positive manner, mentally physically and spiritually for their upcoming birth. I can help create an empowering birth plan,

I have available to borrow a growing range of books and have many different products to offer my clients to assist with their birth experience.  I have my own TENS machines that I make available for all my doula clients if they wish to use it.  I also have a huge range of informative brochures and flyers on various different subjects and products I have found useful.  I have different visual aides, posters and affirmations.  I am always on the lookout for new tools or products that can help my birthing clients.

I am an extremely compassionate and caring person and understand that every pregnancy and birth is different so I endeavour to get to know my clients and therefore am able to work to best suit their needs.
